Our product advice is given primarily on the basis of suitability and fitness for purpose determined by technical guidelines and test documentation. Slip Resistance is one of the most important considerations when selecting Ceramic Floor Tiles. There are various testing methods available with the R rating scale currently the most popular. The R Rating is used for shoe traffic areas and an A, B, C rating is used to classify tiles in wet barefoot areas. This is widely used by tile manufactures and is well recognised throughout Europe (DIN 51130). Another method currently gaining popularity in the UK is the HSE recommended pendulum test (BS7976) which we refer to when providing detailed fitness for purpose information.
